Puffed sleeves in fine leather
These puffed sleeves in fine leather are a technical marvel, illustrating the art of leatherwork with visual inspiration drawn from the exaggerated proportions of late 19th-century dresses. Designed to reflect mastery of structure, they transform leather, typically heavy and rigid, into a material capable of creating airy silhouettes.
Two-Part Structure:
- Support Harness: Cut from 2 mm leather, covering the shoulders and creating an internal armhole.
- Sleeves: Made from 0.5 mm reverse leather, riveted onto the armholes with each pleat covering the rivet of the previous pleat.
The challenge lies in creating a leather drape without using the molding technique. Unlike molding, which stiffens the leather, this method preserves its suppleness and fluidity, allowing freedom of movement while maintaining the visual strength of leather.
This piece is crafted from vegetable-tanned leather and assembled with rivets. Each creation is entirely handmade with the utmost care in our Parisian workshop, making each one unique due to the distinctive characteristics of the leather it comes from.
In the interest of inclusivity and whenever possible, the models can be adapted to body shapes that do not conform to these measurements. For this, please contact us directly via email.
